Introduction:<= o:p>

Kirkuk province is on= e of the famous provinces which plants strategic wintry , summery crops and vegetables ,because of availability of a suitable con= dition such as( climate –soil – water ) .Ministry of Agriculture has persisted to provide agricultural requirements (seed- fertilizer – herbicide- agro-machines and equipment , so as to succeed agricultural plans which carring out and contributed distinguishly, in order to introduce new techniques in agro-businesses beside carrying out National program for a different crops.

General Information:

Arable area in kirkuk province /= 2 050 752 donam<= /p>

Irrigated area / 800 = 153 donam

Rain fed area / 1250 = 599 donam

The main crops= in Kirkuk

Kirkuk province is fa= mous with planting and producing g= rains ( wheat &barley) in an irrigated ,rain fed and semi guaranteed rainfall lands , in addition to summery crops( corn –cotton – sunflower - Sesame )and winter &summer vegetables .=

With Respect to the groves, its area 36= 37 donam , it is widespread inside Kirkuk generality and planted with olive ,grape, pear ,pomegranate and others=

Mechanization = :

1.The total numb= ers of agro-tractors in Kirkuk is (9389),and from

different sizes and models.

2.Repair 117 tractor, Fiat model , 780size together= with AL- Iraq AL-

Hadeeth company.

Plant Producti= on :

1.Increasing some var= iety of corn seeds in 420 donem for Autumn season

/2006 as the following:

350 donem/ Bhooth 106

70 donem/ IPA5012

2. Circulating about = 122 demands for small farmers loans and sending it

to the cooperative agricultural bank , and the amount of the sum till now

is IraqiD 92013500 and= in different agricultural domains .

3.Carrying out agricultural researches : Do= ing test for three classes of

Soya bean.<= /span>

Irrigation Technique:

The total number of erected irrigation systems in = Kirkuk as the following:

Sprinkle irrigation system / 937

Pivotal irrigation sy= stem / 70

Drip irrigation syste= m / 193

Note: setting up of a 27 axial irrigation system has completed and it is not acti= ve till now because did not provide with generators from the General company f= or Agricultural Equipments.

Agricultural Extension & Corpor= ation:

1). Cultivation Extensional seminars: Setting 80 seminars through Kirkuk quarte= rs , districts and farmers groups ensure developing in an agrarian work in both fields animal and botanical.

2) Extensional seminars for rural women:

Establish 7 extension= al seminars to developing women’s abilities in agricultural operation and house arrangement.

3) Rural youth seminars:

Arrange 4 extensional seminars around creating education to the farmers

in order to work in agricultural s= cope.

4) Employment cour= se: organize 7 seminars in different agricultural topics .such as using new techniques in planting an industrial crops also use complementary control f= or the agricultural pests

5) Cultivation training course : Organizing 22 cultivation training on guiding farmers= in all agricultural spaces, such as using of chemical herbicides , pesticides , farming strategic crops , the importance of planting high oil olive , beside poultry diseases

6) Clarificati= on fields: Establish 4 clarification fields for the agricultural crops (wh= eat – barley – cotton – corn – potatoes)

The number of beekeep= ers in Kirkuk province reached to : 373 beekeepers

The Number of modern beehives is: 5530 hives

The Number of ancient beehives ( baskets) is: 581 hives
