A. Carrying out researches
in connection with sowing and producing strategic field crops in
order to achieve food security for the country, through introducing
new, superior, good-quality, and appropriate-to-Iraq's environment
varieties, as well as through genetic improvement by hybridization
and introducing superior breeds and varieties in terms of production
and quality;
B. Setting
researches on various field crop technologies, such as fertilizing,
plant density, and ways and times of sowing and irrigating; and
C. Diagnosing reasons behind agricultural diseases and epidemics,
carrying out researches aiming at finding the best chemical and
biological controlling means, and disseminating the integrated
controlling method against epidemics.
