National Program for Optimal Use of Water

 Resources within Euphrates and Tigris:    

A.    Determining salinity future in Euphrates and Tigris rivers and working on decreasing it;

B.   Warning about type of industries established on Euphrates and Tigris and specifying required environmental measures to protect them from pollution;

C.    Decreasing irrigation water wastes;

D.    Using other water resources, such as underground water and rainfall via:

   1.    Determining the specifications of underground basins and planning for their exploitation; and

    2.  Implementing some appropriate technologies for water-gathering in the region; and

E.    Forming a strategic plan depending on climatic and topographic circumstances taking into consideration high-density-population regions.
